I love stories. I think that so many times we go into a story to meet a character, and we wind up meeting ourselves. We are surprised and comforted and sometimes a little bit scared. But I think that we are almost always more alive.
As a writer, I care deeply about words and using them to create a picture that shows the world both in a way that is so familiar and also reveals what we had never noticed before. I think that is why I write. To describe a world that is near and dear and still a little bit unseen. And maybe that is why you would enjoy reading my book. To see what we know about in our heads in a way that you have never seen it before.
